Cast Interview: Renee O’Connor

Right before shooting one of the largest scenes of the movie, Renee sits down with us onset. She talks about the story, taking on the role of Maurene Wells, working with the cast, and the vision of the director along with a host of other topics.
I am going to love this movie I love movies like this where there is hope in the end. She is an amazing actress and seems like an amazing person cant wait to see this film Renee God bless you and your family

What an absolutely wonderful interview. It is the best I have ever seen Renee’ give where she discusses her craft, the role she is playing, her relationship with the director and her fellow actors through a totally professional dialog. In ‘Beyond The Farthest Star’ we may see Renee’s best performance to-date and the rest of the professional world may get their first real glimpse of what Renee’ is capable of . . . if given a powerful, well written, and well directed role.
Please don’t forget the success of ‘The Hurt Locker’. Another low budget independent film that went on to earn numerous awards and honors from critics’ organizations, festivals and groups. In the end it was nominated for nine Academy Awards this year and won six including Best Picture, and Best Director for Bigelow. The film also won six BAFTA Awards for Best Film, Direction, Original Screenplay, Editing, Cinematography and Sound.
It would appear that Beyond ‘The Farthest Star’ has all the same potential so be sure to start out by entering it in the Venice Film Festival and the the Toronto International Film Festival. Also send a copy to Summit Entertainment who was the distributor for ‘The Hurt Locker’ in the US.

As a writer, Renee’ continues to give us all her best. That is so refreshing to me as a someone who looks to life for those breathes of fresh air to continue to have a reason to write. Sometimes, you feel that your story is not worth putting to paper then you see great stories, just like the one that Renee’ comes to life in and it makes you feel great again about the indrustry, being a writer, about the whole bag of worms. So today, Renee- thanks for the inspiration, boy did I need a kick today.
That was an amazing interview. I’ve loved Renee for most of her career. She is an wonderful actress and I can’t wait to see this film and how the characters come together to bring us something great.

Her fans respect her and look up to her, not only as an actress, but as a human being. We know she has impeccable taste when it comes to choosing projects such as this. So I guess we can’t wait to see what journey she has chosen to be a part of and whose story she has chosen to tell.
As for the rest of the cast, I would love to see more of them. Maybe more behind the scenes material. It looks like a great cast.

Renee, I sure hope I get to see this movie. I also hope that you get rewarded for your work. You and Lucy are such great actresses and I feel you both have been cheated out of “Star” recognition that you both are so deserving of. Love your work and Love you and hope you make many more films.
