Renee’ O’Connor as: Maureen Wells

Native Texan, RENEÉ O’CONNOR played the role of Gabrielle, Xena’s trusted sidekick on the icon series XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS from 1996-2001. The scene stealing role created a worldwide fan base, one still active in countless websites dedicated to the actress and this signature series.

Some of Ms. O’Connor’s favorite projects are the independent feature film BOOGEYMAN 2, staring opposite Tobin Bell for XENA producers Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert as well as the SyFy Channel movies, MONSTER ARK and ALIEN APOCALYPSE.  Besides being a fan favorite and the top rated film of 2005 for SyFy, ALIEN APOCALYPSE was a favorite for Ms. O’Connor because it re-teamed her with XENA co-star, Bruce Campbell.  She will soon be seen in the action/thriller webisode series ARK from Judah/Sacks (executive producers of 90210, DIARY OF A WIMPY KID) and 60 Frames. In the Fall of 2009, she completed the feature film FITFUL for Michigan filmmaker of the year Rich Brauer.  Ms. O’Connor is currently starring opposite Todd Terry  in Andrew Librizzi’s second feature film, BEYOND THE FARTHEST STAR, filming in Dallas,Texas.

Prior to her six years in Auckland, New Zealand (location of XENA), Ms. O’Connor lived in Texas and began her professional film career at the age of 17, starring in the serial TEEN ANGEL with Jason Priestly, a regular feature on Disney Channel’s THE MICKEY MOUSE CLUB. Other credits include the Disney film, THE ADVENTURES OF HUCK FINN with Elijah Wood, and television movies FOLLOW THE RIVER with Ellen Burstyn, Danielle Steele’s CHANGES, and James Garner’s second ROCKFORD FILES reunion movie.

In 2007, Ms. O’Connor produced her first feature film DIAMONDS & GUNS.  In 2009, she wrote and directed her first film WORDS UNSPOKEN.  A festival favorite, WORDS UNSPOKEN has already picked up numerous awards.

Ms. O’Connor’s talent extends beyond the screen; an acclaimed stuntwoman, she is proficient in several forms of martial arts and the use of martial arts weapons, which include, the Nunchaku, Bo-Staff, and the Sai.  Additionally, she is a talented and accomplished painter.

Ms. O’Connor currently resides in Los Angeles, CA with her family.
